Life Update | Micah's 9 Month Update, Returning to the Office, One Year Anniversary & More

Hello Ladies & gents (if there any)

It’s been awhile.. Six months to be exact.. For the readers, who have been keeping up with my journey. I often take unexpected breaks when I’m either uninspired or busy, and this break was for the latter. I am a working mom and boy, is it hard?

The last post I posted I was getting ready to go back to work when the unexpected happened. I quit. I had been working at this job for the past 2 and half years ( almost 3 years) and I knew it was coming but it was still hard to process. I left my work friends that I had some amazing memories with. I left a fairly good work environment and decided to go out on faith.

Honestly, I moved in 2021 and my job was still located in San Antonio. So, I was able to work from home until December and then I was Maternity Leave and left after. I was praying that I would be able to find another job by then but I didn’t start another job until End of May. So, when I took a break it was more because of stress. I was stressed I wasn't going to be able to find a job.

All thanks to GOD. I was able to find a job that paid increasingly more and was decent commute from my apartment. If that’s not GOD I don’t know what is. So from the moment I started my new job, I have been busy. Busy at work. Busy at home. I just didn’t have enough time to sit down and create. The times I did have, I wanted to relax. No lie. A baby, A job, A husband, It’s a lot.

But now, 6 months later. I’m able to get back on my feet. I’m getting into a routine and I’m making it a priority. I’m currently writing during my lunch break at work. The only time besides night time that I have to create without interruption.

So for a quick update before I get back to my regularly scheduled program.

Before I found a job, I utilized that extra month off and traveled. I went to ATL for my husband’s 27th birthday and Miami for my 26th. I had a blast. Definitely making that a tradition! We visited North Beach, went on the sky wheel, rode a horse for the first time, and did ATVs. We were going to skydive but it ended up not working out, but overall a blast and wouldn’t change a thing.

Once I started my job, it was time to get serious. I was able to hire my sister in law to watch baby boy for the day’s i’m in office. For my job, I only have to go into the office three days a week, so I was able to spend more time with baby boy during the week on the two days I worked from home. Work has been fun, definitely an adjustment, but one of the best things that has happened to me this year. I work in an amazing office, my co-workers are great, and the food in the cafe is cheap and delicious. What more can a girl ask for?

Now on to the BESTEST thing and that is my baby boy. He is officially 9 months old. He is starting to crawl, can stand up by himself, eating people food, and baby food. He is just constantly changing and while I’m sad he is getting out of the baby stage. I’m excited to see where he goes. He just makes me the happiest mom on earth and his birthday is coming up, which I am starting to plan. Wish me luck! I’ll need it.

Last but not least. I have been married for a year now. I literally am in awe of how far my husband and I have come. We were college sweethearts. We have been through ups and downs but we have managed to come out on the other side. We have lots of fun together and exploring the world together is by far my favorite thing to do with him. There is still more things we need to work on (like every other couple) but it’s nice to know we are choosing to stick by one another and figure it out as we go.

Well, that’s all the exciting things that have happened to me since we last spoke. I am so excited for the fall and ready for ya’ll to get to know me ( in all aspects, marriage, mom, work, etc). So if there are any suggestions on what you would like to see from me. Please let me know.
