3 Activities To Do With Your Kids to Celebrate the Holidays in Dallas, TX

Happy Holidays

Tis the Season to be Jolly. Falalala lalalala

The holiday seasons can be a hectic and joyous time of the year, especially if you have kids of your own. As the parents, you have the responsibility to create amazing memories for your kids to look back on when they get older. Now that my oldest is officially in the toddler stage, parenting has gotten a lot more fun.

Seeing my oldest explore his surroundings and learn new things brings childhood joy to my face. I’m just so excited to see what he gets into as he grows into a kid.

To celebrate the holiday season, we have decided to start some Christmas traditions to get us into the holiday spirit. I wanted to share a couple with you in case you’re looking for ways to celebrate the holidays with your little ones.

Let’s get into it

  • See Christmas Lights - One thing about me, I’m going to find the cheapest and coolest way to celebrate the holidays with the little ones. To start of this list, I wanted to include a light show or seeing Christmas lights. It doesn’t feel like Christmas until the red and green lights are on. Ya hear me. I found a cute Christmas light showing at a farm close to our home. Tickets are only $12 per adult and kids 2 and under are free. So of course, we are going. So, if you’re looking to see some awesome Christmas lights, get on TikTok or Instagram and search “holiday Christmas lights in your city”. Not only does social media provide you with a glimpse of what the Christmas lights look like, but you will find the best things to do in your city for a cheap/reduced price. If you live in the DFW area, check out the Lights on the Farm in Plano, TX or The Light Park in Frisco

  • Visit a Christmas Village - This seems self-explanatory, but i never heard of these until this year, when one of my mom friends brought it up. So, this weekend, we are taking the boys to the Christmas village for some Christmas fun. Usually, at a Christmas village you will be able to meet Santa and drink some hot cocoa and see some cool Christmas light displays. If that isn’t lit, i don’t know what is. If you’re in DFW, check out the Dallas Arboretum in Dallas, TX or The Galleria Mall in Dallas, TX

  • Holiday Movie + Cookie Decorating Night - For those who would rather stay indoors this holiday season. I would suggest getting a cute cookie-decorating kit from Walmart, turning on the Grinch (either version, I actually prefer the newer animated one) and turning the Christmas lights on, while you guys bake some cookies with your kiddos. Not only will this be a fun time for the kiddos, as they’re able to use their creativity skills, but it will also be fun way to bond with the kids, and keep the fun indoors where your safe and warm. It’s a win win! if you ask me. Use this decorating kit, Available at Walmart for online ordering, pickup, delivery or in store.

I hope this holiday season brings you closer to the ones you love and that you’re able to create those amazing core memories with your kiddos.

Let me know in the comments what is another holiday activity you like to do with your kids to celebrate the holiday season.
