Finding Out I'm Pregnant with Baby #2 | Recap
Yes, you read that right.
I’m pregnant with baby #2.
Exciting right?
Honestly speaking, when I first found out I was pregnant. I had all the feels from being happy to nervous to sad and back to happy again. Being pregnant so soon after having my first is a weird feeling. I feel like I was just getting the hang of being a working mom with a toddler. When I went back to work after maternity leave, It took me awhile to adjust and create a routine that suits both my baby’s lifestyle and my husband and I’s. We finally have it down to a science, from his morning routine to his night routine. We know what he likes (for the most part) and what he doesn’t like. Overall, we are killing it in the mom and dad department. So, to imagine adding another little one to the equation can be overwhelming and scary. How is this little one going to impact our current schedule? How am I going to balance time between the baby and my other son. Am I ever going to get rest again?
All the questions that are still currently running through my mind as I’m entering the 30-week mark of pregnancy. Nontheless, I am grateful to be bringing in another blessing into our family. My husband is over the moon and baby boy desperately needs a 24/7 playmate. Me and his daddy are not cutting it. Thanks to daycare he gets that daily interaction with kids and his sleepovers at his grandparents, where he gets to play with his cousins helps, but I know he is going to benefit most with having a little brother to play with.
Overall, I’m ready to meet him. If I could give birth today I would. This pregnancy has been far from enjoyable from experiencing Hyperemesis Gravidarium my whole first trimester to pelvic pain and exhaustion in my third trimester. I am over it.
But with all great things comes great sacrifice. And right now, I have been sacrificing my sleep and energy to create this beautiful bundle of joy.
So to update you with everything that’s been happening these past 7 months, I’ve narrowed it down to 7 important moments to keep this post short and sweet.
Here we go
Found out I was pregnant on baby boy’s first birthday. Took a pregnancy test with my husband, a faint line showed up, and boom here we are 7 months later.
Had to take a break from work due to my Hyperemesis symptoms (i.e., I couldn’t muster the energy to shower and wash dishes nonetheless work) I constantly felt nauseous no matter what I ate or what medicine I took.
I did not have any specific cravings, anything that didn’t make me feel nauseous was what I ate the most, but even then, after a while, eating the same thing eventually made me feel nauseous. I just couldn’t win.
My energy returned during the second trimester and that’s when we took our first family road trip with baby boy. Trip started off good but probably wasn’t the best idea with a 13-month-old. He was over being in a car after the first day.
I found out the gender of the baby around 15 weeks. It’s a BOY. I had gender disappointment, as I really wanted a girl so I could NEVER be pregnant again. But found out it was a boy, so trying again in a couple of years. Wish me luck. (I told my husband he has two more tries lol, so let’s hope he knocks it out the park the next go-around)
Met some friends on the peanut app so I could connect with other mothers as I’m the first of my friends to have a kid and didn’t want to bother them with all my mom / pregnant stuff. Unless asked.
Currently in the process of planning a baby sprinkle, maternity shoot, and documenting the last couple weeks of pregnancy. (be sure to follow me on Tik Tok, Instagram, and YouTube for details)
So, with all that being said, I’m so happy the cat is out the bag. For those who follow me on Instagram and YouTube, the news has been out for a couple of weeks, but for those just finding out.
SURPRISE. IM PREGNANT.
Please send prayers for a safe delivery and recovery.
Feel free to leave me comments on your best advice on how to tackle 2 under 2. It will be well appreciated.
